Purple Moss Rolls Out Digital Signage for Pharmacy
Friday, 08 August 2008 00:00
Purple Moss Media, a digital signage and new media company providing in-store advertising opportunities for well known brands in the pharmacy sector, has just completed the installation of a digital advertising network in 53 pharmacies across the Western Cape.
The independently operated pharmacies, all members of the Alpha Pharm group, are located across the province from Port Nolloth to Plettenberg Bay. The screens are driven by a player PC running Mediacaster software, and all the pharmacies are linked to Purple Moss over 3G wireless connections, allowing Purple Moss staff to update content as required and monitor the network in real-time.
The screens are strategically positioned behind the dispensary counters and are in the direct line of vision for waiting customers. On average, each Pharmacy process about 40,000 transactions per month and each advertisement will be viewed by approximately 2,280,000 (2.28 million) people per month. The network, the first of its kind in South Africa, displays a mixed schedule of advertising content, product announcements, training material and group updates.
