Sign Software

Sign Software enables centralised management and control of digital media networks. Sign software typically has a central management console where users import and collate a variety of different media formats, as well as, playback software that is installed on player devices connected to display screens on a digital signage network. The management console (server) usually communicates with the player devices on the network through IP-based communication protocols such as LAN and internet networks.

Sign software allows the user to follow a typical signage work flow:
  • Import media
  • Create playlists
  • Add players onto the network
  • Add players to a channel
  • Schedule playback of media and playlists
  • Upload media to players
  • Monitor screens on the media network
Sign software has evolved together with other forms of software from the more traditional 'download and install' to software as a service (SaaS) model. The SaaS model has evolved together with internet technologies and allows users to create an online account through a web browser and administer and manage their digital signage networks through a central web-based interface.

Sign software has evolved to extend the concept of digital signage to include interactivity, location triggered content through GPS integration, audience metrics, mobile device interactivity and device triggered playback through RFID and bar scanners.
