Digital Signage System
A digital signage system is a technology that enables the delivery of multimedia layouts to a scalable, distributed network of on-location digital displays over any internet or network connection. The digital signage system would typically consist of:
- A management console, through which the network of digital signs is administered.
- Display units that play the digital signage content.
- A network distribution system that uploads the media to the players.
A digital signage system allows the user to import and play a variety of multi-media content at specific times and locations. The content used in a display could include: - video, images, RSS feeds, weather widgets, text tickers etc. Digital signage has evolved to include more dynamic technologies such as interactive kiosks, location based playback using GPS and various other context based playback technologies.
